Complete collection of this brilliant bibliophilic publication, published by the art publisher Édouard Pelletan in an edition of 1200, then 1000 and finally 900 copies.
It is illustrated with 28 compositions by Henry Bellery-Fontaine engraved by Froment for 1898, 38 figures drawn and engraved by Florian for 1899, 31 illustrations by Steinlen engraved by Froment père et fils for 1900, 30 colour compositions by Eugène Grasset engraved by Émile Froment for 1901, 31 original woodcuts by Paul Colin for 1902, and 47 figures by Louis Dunki engraved by Léon Perrichon for 1903.
The texts were written by renowned writers and bibliophiles such as Anatole France, Jules Claretie, Henri Beraldi, Clément-Janin, Pierre Dauze and Georges Vicaire.
One of 50 first copies on chine (except 100 copies for 1898), numbered and initialled by the publisher. It includes the publication prospectuses bound in fine (for 1898, 1899, 1900, 1902 and 1903), as well as the publisher's catalogue (for 1898, 1901 [cat. 1903] and 1903 [cat. 1905]).
A splendid copy, very well established by Georges Canape for his own library, with his bookplate.
