ROYAL ALMANACH, year 1769. Paris, Le Breton, [1769]. In-8, red morocco, important gilt rocaille decoration, coat of arms in the centre, ornate spine, inner lace, starred paper lining and endpapers, gilt edges (period binding). A very fine copy in morocco with the arms of Abel-François Poisson de Vandières (1727-1781), Marquis de Marigny et de Ménars, younger brother of the Marquise de Pompadour, who was Director General of the King's Buildings from 1746 to 1773. This provenance is rare and sought-after. From the Henri Lavedan library, with bookplate. Some foxing, tear repaired pp. 3-4. OHR, 2209/4.
