ROYAL ALMANACH, leap year 1788. Paris, Debure, [1788]. In-8, red morocco, triple gilt fillet with fleur-de-lis in the corners, coat of arms in the centre, smooth ornate spine, twisted edges, inner lace, blue silk lining and endpapers, gilt edges (period binding). A superb copy in large paper bound in red morocco with the arms of the Countess of Provence. Marie-Joséphine de Savoie (1753-1810), daughter of Victor-Amédée III, King of Sardinia, and Marie-Antoinette of Spain, was Countess of Provence through her marriage to Louis-Stanislas-Xavier de France, younger brother of Louis XVI who was to reign under the name of Louis XVIII. The calendar is interleaved. One corner slightly worn, slight rubbing, two worm holes on one spine.
