Alpenländisch um 1200 Thronende Muttergottes Lindenholz, dreiviertelrund geschnitzt, auf der Rückseite stark ausgehöhlt. Reste von mehreren älteren farbigen Fassungen. Hohe schlichte Plinthe. Darauf die auf frontale Ansicht gestaltete auf einer schlichten Thronbank sitzende bekrönte Muttergottes, die das Kind mit ihrer linken Hand auf ihren Knien hält; in der vorgestreckten rechten Hand dürfte sie ehemals ein Zepter gezeigt haben. Das bekleidete Jesuskind umfasst ein Buch und hält seine rechte Hand zum Segensgestus erhoben. Kopf des Kindes und rechte Hand der Maria wieder angefügt. Verluste an den Füßen des Kindes und der Krone Marias. Ausbruch an der rechten Seite der Plinthe, drei Bohrungen in Thronbank und Plinthe. Höhe 69 cm. An Alpine carved limewood figure of the Virgin enthroned, circa 1200. Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse severely hollowed out. Remains of several older layers of polychromy.. A figure of the Virgin designed for a frontal viewpoint, seated on a simple wooden throne resting upon an equally plain, high socle. She is depicted crowned and holding the Christ Child on Her knees with Her left hand, She would have previously held a sceptre in Her right. The clothed Child is shown grasping a book and holding His right hand aloft in a blessing. The head of the Child and the Virgin's right hand reattached. Losses to the Child's feet and the Virgin's crown. A loss to the right of the plinth, three drilled holes to the throne and plinth. Height 69 cm.
