Note: Alphonse Fouquet (1828 - 1911), a fashionable Parisian jeweller, was particularly noted at the 1878 Universal Exhibition for his Renaissance-inspired jewellery, where he was awarded the Gold Medal. He stood out for his original creations, playing with shapes and volumes, mixing gems such as turquoise and topaz with diamonds and sapphire. He went into partnership with his son Georges in 1891.
