AMATO (Frederico d'). Il Gran Sasso d'Italia. Ascensioni sul Monte Corno. Teramo, Stab. tipografico Q. Scalpelli e figlia, 1888. In-8°, paperback, printed cover. Federico d'Amato was appointed professor of natural history at the Teramo Technical Institute in 1873. He made three ascents of Monte Corno, the highest point of the Gran Sasso d'Italia in the Appenine massif. On the first, in July 1873, he was accompanied by his colleague Gaspare Blanc, a teacher of English and French. In the second, taken in August 1877, he was accompanied by the painter Gennaro della Monica. Autograph letter from the author. Minor defects to the cover, paper uniformly yellowed.
