AN AMPHORA EARRING - former Kofler-Truniger collection Roman, probably Phoenician, 2nd–1st century BC. Gold. In the form of a finely chiseled vase with two handles. Divided in the middle with two blackish glass flows in the shape of a hemisphere and an inserted beige-colored disc. H 3.2 cm. Bow incomplete. Minimal dents to the base of the vase. Minimal chips to the beige disc. Provenance: - Purchased from Archimandrite Nicolas Karam, Beirut, August 9, 1952 (according to index card). - Collection of Ernst and Marthe Kofler-Truniger (1903–1990 & 1918–1999), Lucerne (inv. no. K725C), acquired from the above. - Swiss private collection, Lucerne, acquired from the above in ca. 1974. - By inheritance in the same Swiss family collection, Lucerne.
