An Anglo-Indian Kashmiri Lacquered Domed Letter Box & Tray, Late 19th Century. A finely decorated domed letter box featuring an intricate lacquered surface adorned with floral and foliate motifs in golden hues. The exterior is punctuated with tall green iris flowers at the centre of each panel, framed by an elaborate network of detailed floral patterns. The domed lid lifts to reveal a well-organized interior designed for storing correspondence, lined with compartments for letters and documents.
