An elegant Maki-e-Do Gosoku (Samurai Armour) dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Iron Akodonari Kabuto with eight, red-lacquered plates complete with gilded tehen. Provided with rayed Banrin ushirodate (back decoration) and Maedate in Sanskrit (more recent decration). Six-plate Hineo Shikoro with silk laces in Kebiki Odoshi. Mabizashi and fukigaeshi with Wa Kamon of the Tojo family. Red-lacquered Ressei Menpo with removable nose-piece and mustaches. Gour-plate Yodarekake. Red-lacquered Okegawa Do with wistaria-shaped decoration (Fuji mon) in black and gold lacquer on the breast-plate. Gold-lacquered Kusazuri with five plates in kiritsuke kozane; dark-green laces, en suite with the Do's Hishi-toji (crossed laces).Haidate with thin plates. Provided with red-lacquered suneate, Kote with red-lacquered Sode, pertinent. Complete with transport stock made of wood. Epoch: early Edo period. height 150 cm.
