An extraordinary pair of Lebeda pin-fire pistols from the property of William duke of Brunswick dating: about 1870 provenance: Prague, Rifled, swivelling, three-stage, damask, 13 mm cal. barrels, octagonal at the base and the nozzle, of sixteen faces the central one, bone foresight, gilded bands at the edges; under the barrels the gilded mark 'LEBEDA.S PATENT'; the gilded, crowned monogram 'W' at the receivers; finely engraved and gilded with floral motifs at the locks, cocks, receivers and mounts; micro-checkered, wooden butts and ramrods; the mark 'LEBEDA.S PATENT' at the trigger guards, butt-plates with drums. William, Duke of Brunswick (1806-1884) was ruling duke of the Duchy of Brunswick from 1830 until his death. During the years, the pair of pistols was divided, until, in October 1986, one of the pistols appeared on the 'Guns Magazine' cover. The owner of the other pistol, a collector from Ravenna (a city in Ohio, USA) who was looking for the missing one, read the magazine and managed to buy the pistol, rejoining the pair. length 26 cm.
