An important sword
dating: circa 1500
Provenence: Spain
Straight, double-edged blade with thickened tip and double central fuller, in the inside engravings picturing birds and gilded floral pattern, rectangular tang with a central groove; iron grip, the hilt bent towards the blade, two anellets, quillon-block with a cusp and a groove at the center, remains of gilding; fine restored pommel. Wooden grip with leather covering.Two similar models are in the Real Armeria of Madrid , see "Catalogo de la Real Armeria", page 211.
