An infantry sabre mod. 1826 with blade made by Ivan Bushuev (1800-1834) Zlatoust dating: second quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Russia Curved, single -and false-edged blade with wide fuller and thin groove at the back, the first part finely engraved and gilt with the effigy of cavalry, trophies, Russian imperial eagle, monogram and floral motifs on blue background, Bushuev's signature and the date "1827" at the back; two-looped bronze hilt engraved with floral motifs; twisted, horn grip with wire binding; leather scabbard with brass mounts.Weapons by Ivan Bushuev are exhibited in the Kremlin Museums and the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg; a honour sword by Bushuev was sold as lot 342 in our 16th November 2002 sale. dimensions : 90 cm.
