For the decorative taste of this large amphora, see, among the many possible examples, the cup today in Faenza (Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche, Cora donation, inv. 21951) dated 1550-1560. As for the layout of our amphora, with its shouldered and bi-annular body on a triangular base, this would remain a characteristic of monumental production in Urbino for the entire century (see, among the many examples, the amphora today in the Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza (inv. 16722).
