Anna Mark studied painting at the Budapest School of Fine Arts and then worked as a theatre designer. She left Hungary in 1956 and settled permanently in Paris in 1959, where she now lives and works.
After using traditional painting techniques, Anna Mark turned her attention to many other, rougher techniques, including the use of sand to suggest relief and marble powder (generally used in the composition of stucco), which we can make out here by its milky white appearance.
Her work is thus abstract, marked by an architectural construction.
