ANTILLES. - Set of 2 pieces issued to Louis-René Potier de Pommeroy.
A French officer from Saint-Domingue who defected to the English during the Terror. Lieutenant in the Cap regiment, Louis-René Potier de Pommeroy, emigrated in July 1793, first to the Spanish eastern part of the island, then enlisting in the English army of occupation in the western part. He returned to the French army and became aide-de-camp to General Léonard Muller.

Santiago [now Santiago-De-Los-Caballeros in the Dominican Republic], 5 August 1794.
