A 11, fig. 87 Our bronze is a real rarity, as this model, which was not published until after 1870, is rarely offered on the art market. Our version is indeed the one illustrated in the catalogue raisonné of the sculptures, an authentic proof cast by Hector Brame around 1890 when the posthumous edition begun after the sculptor's death was continued. It bears witness to the sculptor's great virtuosity and his constant ability to create complex and ambitious models.
