Note:
Antonio Canova created a full-length figure of Pâris for Empress Joséphine for her Château de Malmaison. It was later sold to Tsar Alexander I of Russia and is now in the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg. A second version of this sculpture was made for King Ludovic of Bavaria and is now in the Neue Pinakotek in Munich. The model was a great success and Canova's workshop produced several busts between 1808 and 1812. His pupils then came up with their own interpretations of the bust, such as Pietro Tenerani, Pietro Fontana and Finelli.
