Antonio RINALDO (1816-1887), 'Schooner in the Bay', oil on canvas, signed lower left. H. 35 x 48.2 cm Condition: Paint chipped in a few places: Several missing pieces, trace of the stretcher on the table. In its gilded wood and stucco frame. Reference: Documentation: A painter born in Tremona in 1816, he trained alongside the neoclassical artist Luigi Sabatelli at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera. After completing his studies, he returned to Ticino and settled in his native village of Tremona, which he never left. He worked for wealthy individuals and ecclesiastics. Today, he is considered one of Ticino's leading artists of the 19th century. Many of his works are kept at the Pinacoteca Züst. Source: Pinacoteca cantonale Giovanni Züst.
