APULIAN EPICHISIS WITH SEATED WINGED EROS. Ca. 350 - 300 BC. A black-glazed terracotta epichysis with a piriform body tapering towards a narrow neck and an elongated, vertical spout with a flared opening. The spout is attached to the neck by two lateral struts projecting outward. A single arched handle extends from the upper body to the base of the spout. The front side of the body is decorated with a red-figure depiction of a winged Eros seated on a pile of rocks, holding a mirror in his right hand. His wings extend behind him, and his body is embellished with added white detailing. The opposite side features a large palmette flanked by scrolling tendrils.
