APULIAN RED-FIGURE LEKANIS WITH LADY OF FASHION. Ca. 350 BC. A red-figure pottery lekanis with a domed lid rising to a narrow stem culminating in a flaring disc handle with a central rosette, and a lower bowl standing on a high cylindrical foot. The exterior of the lid is decorated with female heads in profile, adorned with elaborate coiffure and jewellery, flanked by radiating palmettes, with a border of waves encircling the rim.
