APULIAN SQUAT LEKYTHOS DEPICTING A SEATED WOMAN. Ca. 350 - 300 BC. A red-figure squat lekythos with a funnel-shaped mouth, a slender neck, and a bulbous body tapering gently into a slightly raised foot. The neck is decorated with vertical stripes and the main body depicts a seated female figure. She is draped in flowing attire, her hair tied back and detailed with added black. She extends her right arm and her left is holding a wreath. Elaborate vegetal motifs flank the figure on both sides, consisting of stylised palmettes and scrolling tendrils.
