APULIAN SQUAT LEKYTHOS WITH LADY OF FASHION. Ca. 350 BC. A red-figure squat lekythos with an ovoid body on a low flaring foot, a tall, narrow neck rising to a wide flaring mouth, and a single strap handle. The neck is painted with vertical strokes, and the main field shows a large profile bust of a "Lady of Fashion" facing left, with added white and yellow for the beaded sakkos, earrings, and necklace. The reverse is decorated with a radiate palmette flanked by upright tendril scrolls. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 1978,0414.45.
