Mauve grey box decorated on the boards with a rich geometrical decoration comprising a large frame of motifs in metallic blue box surrounding in the centre a rectangle decorated in the same spirit with motifs in red, garnet, orange, dark green, blue, light blue, pink, light green box, grey and pale green, smooth spine decorated in the same spirit, mauve grey suede lining edged with gilt fillet, same suede endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved, mauve grey box spine and cover bands, edged slipcase (P. L. Martin 1961). First edition. One of the first 30 numbered copies on Hollande van Gelder vellum (No. 11). A copy in a sumptuous contemporary binding with geometric mosaic designed by Pierre-Lucien Martin for Professor Jacques Millot (1897-1980), an arachnologist but also a great bibliophile and founder of the Société de la reliure originale. A perfectly preserved copy. Provenance: Jacques Millot, with the inscription "Relié pour Jacques Millot" in gilt lettering on the bottom of the first lining (1991, no. 163).
