Archipenko, Alexander 1887 Kiev - 1964 New York Feminine Solitude (two women). 1921. Faience, glazed. 71,5 x 21,5 x 17cm. The plinth rim signed: Archipenko. Restored damage at the plinth. A written expertise by Frances Archipenko Gray, Archipenko Foundation, New York, dating from 3rd April 2009 is available. The work will be included in the catalogue raisonné of sculptures currently in preparation. Since there is presumably only one exemplar moulded in faience, the present work was displayed at the exhibition in Berlin and Mannheim 1922.
