Second bilingual edition, German, French after the first dated 1721, published by the author's son from the original copperplates, on drawings by the author, etched by Johann Adam Delsenbach except one by Christian Engelbrecht and Johann Andreas Pfeffel. A remarkable work by one of the leading figures of Austrian Baroque, which takes us on an architectural journey through all periods and all countries. The title, false titles and epistle are engraved. The work consists of 5 books: I Quelques Bâtimens Antiques, Juifs, Égyptiens, Syriens, Persans et Grecs ; II Quelques Bâtimens Romains Antiques, moins connus ; III De quelques Bâtimens des Arabes et des Turcs ; comme aussi de l'Architecture Persane moderne, Siamoise, Chinoise, et Japonaise ; IV Quelques Bâtimens de l'invention, et du dessein, de l'Auteur ; V Divers Vases Antiques, Aegyptiens, Grecs, Romains, et Modernes : avec Quelques-uns de l'invention de l'Auteur. The work is complete with 25 leaves of text and 86 plates. The binding is very worn, part of the spine is missing. Light staining affecting part of the text or some titles. Some plates show light spotting, browning or light rings generally marginal, the last 3 plates are unbound, with frayed edges, marginal wetness, tears without missing and without affecting the engraving. Despite these defects, the plates remain in good condition.
