ARISTOPHANE. Κωμῳδίαι ἐννέα... Comœdiæ novem cum commentariis antiquis... Florence, heirs of Filippo Giunta, 1525. In-4, stiff vellum, double cold fillet, four-ribbed spine titled in ink, blue edges (17th-century binding). Second edition by the Giunta family, the only one with the scholies and copious index. A rare edition.
Edited by Antonio Francini and printed entirely in Greek, it is decorated with very handsome wood-engraved bands and initials; those on the first page of the text are printed in red. The last leaf bears the printer's mark.
An attractive copy in antique vellum.
Ff. 131-132 have been mistakenly repeated in place of ff. 129-130, which are missing. Light spotting, signature crossed out and small hole in the blank of the title.
