Paris, Jean Billaine, Simon Piget, Frédéric Léonard, 1654. 4 volumes in-folio, fawn calf embossed on wood, double framing of friezes and cold fillets, spine decorated with cold fillets, blue edges, metal clasps (Period binding). Third edition of the complete works of Aristotle procured by Guillaume Du Val. This latest printing contains additions to those of 1619 and 1629. The text is printed in two columns in Greek and in Latin translation. Important monastic bindings in cold-stamped calf. From the library of François-Vincent Raspail (1794-1878), famous chemist, botanist and politician, with ex-libris stamp. The work is described in the catalogue of its sale (1912, no. 84). Covers damaged and missing, scattered foxing and spotting.
