FIREARMS. BELGIUM. COUNET type double action crack revolver, octagonal barrel cal. 12 mm, nickel-plated steel frame engraved with scrolls, central percussion, Top-Break system opening by a key placed on the left, full cylinder with 6 chambers, marine ivory stock plates. L: 27 cm, barrel: 14.4 cm. One rod of the automatic extractor is missing, as is the button on the front of the frame. Nickel plating and scratches on the barrel. ABE Revolvers with crack of this type were patented from 1871 by Philippe COUNET, arms manufacturer of Liège which worked inter alia for Auguste Francotte and the house Webley in Birmingham.
