In-8° bound in full garnet morocco, spine ribbed and gilt with fleur-de-lys, rich gilt small-ink lace framing the covers with Antoine Lavoisier's crowned arms in the centre, light blue moire endpapers, gilt edges (Period binding). One spine and one corner missing. Fairly good condition for this copy bearing the arms of Antoine Lavoisier (1743-1794), French chemist and philosopher, which was presented at the eponymous exhibition at the Palais de la découverte in Paris in 1943-1944.
