[ANCIENT WEAPONS 1st EMPIRE]. Light cavalry officer sabre. Mounted in gilded brass with straight columnar joint, Hungarian-style skullcap with heavily indented skirt, diamond-shaped mounts. Throated curved blade, single-edged with counter-edge at the tip, damascus steel, damascene decoration partially effaced on the first quarter, bevelled tip (reused oriental blade?) Length : 96 cm. Black leather and gilt metal scabbard, iron sting.
