Worshipful dagger with horn handle decorated with oak acorns, shell guard plate, flat straight blade engraved with hunting scenes and still lifes, stamped "Z" on the heel, leather scabbard with 2 brass fittings. L: 57 cm, blade: 42 cm. Bouterolle replaced. ABE This type of civilian dagger was seen in the trenches by officers, particularly from Jägers (foot hunter) units.
