Infantry officer's sword known as "des Gardes françaises" model 1788, single-branch hilt with quadrangular horizontal quillon in gilt brass, wooden spindle entirely filigree with copper wire, pommel in the form of a helmet with a pommel, bivalve and moulded hilt plate with palmette quillon, straight blade with hollow sides engraved with floral motifs and trophies in the first quarter, heel signed "S & C" (A.
