Type 1767 infantry grenadier sabre with moulded brass mounting, curved blade with hollow sides and gutter engraved with scrolls and a gilded cartouche "Constitution" on one side, "Liberty" on the other, modern tie, leather scabbard with 2 braced brass fittings decorated with a frieze of holes. L: 78 cm, blade: 68.5 cm. The hilt is slightly missing, the decorations on the blade have been gilded, the scabbard's leather is later than the period. ABE
