SWORDS. Light cavalry officer's sabre with gilt brass mounting, moulded single-branch hilt stamped on the underside of the branch "BOUTET" in a cartouche and "LD" and "AB" hallmarks, shuttle-shaped pommels, lion's head right quillon, octagonal pommel with short tail, wooden spindle covered with basane and a double twisted brass filigree, curved blade with hollow sides, octagonal brass scabbard with 2 bracelets decorated with a trellis, asymmetrical iron sting. The scabbard is engraved on the upper part: "Le 1er Consul au Sous Lieutenant VERNIER Philibert au 12e Regt d'Infrie de Ligne Pour Action d'Eclat", on the back "Manufre à Versailles", these engravings are apocryphal as well as the punches of Boutet and its controllers which are identical to those of the preceding batch.
