Darstellung von Personen in einer Landschaftsszene aus Perlmutteinlage und lacque burgauté, in einem gepflegten Zustand. Unter lacque burgauté versteht man die Verwendung von schwarzem Lack in Kombination mit Perlmutteinlagen, welche in farbigen Nuancen der Szenerie Lebhaftigkeit vermitteln. Diese Technik wurde aus der chinesischen Qing Dynastie überliefert und verbreitete sich über die Ryukyu-Inseln. Die meisten Laquer-Arbeiten von Cartier wurden in Ryukyu oder Japan hergestellt. Enclosed is a certificate of authenticity No. GE2000-167 from Cartier dated 30.8.2000. Inner side signed Cartier Londres New-York numbered 0412, gold stamp of Parisian eagle head. Mirrored inside, sides ornamented with fancy-cut coral elements and mother-of-pearl. The mother-of-pearl and lacque burgauté recto and verso have Asian scenery, depicting figures in a landscape, in well cared for condition. Underneath the lacque burgauté is an application of black coating in combination with mother-of-pearl insets, which creates a colourful and vibrant effect. This technique was established during the Qing Dynasty in China, which spread to the Ryukyu Islands. Most of the lacque-worked pieces from Cartier derive from Ryukyu or Japan.
