They went with her to Vienna and founded the "Atelier d'Ora" there in 1907. Benda was initially studio director, and from 1922 partner of the studio, which he took over in 1927 ("D'Ora-Benda", after the Second World War simply "Arthur Benda"). The studio was one of the first commercial portrait studios in Austria, creatively breaking away from the rigid schematics of the 19th century and early on doing pioneering work in the field of fashion photography.
