Castle and village in perspective against a delicately drawn mountain backdrop. Wide border with garlands of stylised flowers and foliage. These tapestries, populated by animals as noble as they are fantastic, are legendary, showing that the fauna was fantastic. These animals lived well in all parts of the world, even on the outskirts of our homes. These tapestries must have been ideal for telling hunting stories, tales and legends during the long evenings, at a time when the real and the fabulous were deliberately confused. Early 17th century.
