This is the first edition, with no publisher's mark: copies of this first edition include from 0 to 6 plates. An account of the ascent of Mont Blanc via the Corridors route. Ex-libris Sainte Marie College of Wynchester pasted on the flyleaf. Handwritten bookplate on title, dated 1871. A good copy. Henry Martin Atkins (c. 1818-1842) was a student in Geneva when, in 1837, he made the twenty-fourth ascent of Mont Blanc, in the company of a compatriot, Pidwel, and a Swedish artillery officer, Hedrengen.
