ATTIC RED-FIGURE KYLIX WITH DIONYSIAC SCENE.
Ca. 500 - 400 BC
A red-figure terracotta kylix with a broad, shallow bowl on a slender stem and broad disc foot, fitted with a pair of horizontal handles. The interior tondo shows two nude male figures, one raising a drinking vessel towards the other, their cloaks draped over their arms, the scene framed by concentric lines.
Size: 245mm x 80mm; Weight: 340g.
Private London collection; previously acquired on the Belgian art market; originally in the collection of L Evrard, Liege 1980’s.
