ATTIC RED-FIGURE SKYPHOS WITH OWLS Ca. 450 BC. A terracotta skyphos with a deep, slightly flaring body, a flat base, and two horizontally extending handles positioned at the upper section. The exterior is decorated in the red-figure technique, with two owls facing forward, their round eyes accentuated with added black circles and their bodies marked with short incised lines suggesting feathers. Stylised olive branches with elongated leaves extend upward on either side. A horizontal band runs along the lower edge, separating the decorative field from the unpainted lower body and foot.
