Cairo, Hercules and Omphale, canvas, in an 18TH CENTURY Italian carved and regilded wood frame. 105 X 84,5 CM - 41 3/8 X 33 1/4 IN. The same slightly larger composition, with an angel above the couple, is listed in two versions in Francesco Frangi's monograph, Francesco Cairo, U. Allemandi, 1998, p. 275, no. 84 in a private collection (fig. 95 - 128 x 97) and the other on p. 287, no. 117, kept at Nelahozeves Castle in the Czech Republic (fig. 123 -127 x 95 CM).
