Provenance: Possibly Collection of Anne-Marie Louise d'Orléans, Château d'Eu, Normandy, the Château d'Eu mark ; Collection of Louis-Philippe, his stamp on the reverse; Private collection, Paris Bibliography: Possibly Jean Vatout, 'Le château d'Eu (souvenirs historiques), son histoire et sa description', Paris, 1852, p. 431 Comment: This 1693 painting may once have been in the Château d'Eu. It was exhibited in the service room "park side". Jean Vatout's book mentions this portrait: "Behind this portrait, in Mademoiselle's own handwriting, is written Berjère alent a la faite du village voisin". There is a copy of this painting made in the 19th century by Auguste de Creuse (1806-1839), commissioned by Louis-Philippe for the Musée Historique de Versailles in 1839. It is now in the Musée National des Châteaux de Versailles et de Trianon. This lot is being sold for the benefit of 30 Millions d'Amis, a public charity.
