Attributed to Jean-Baptiste I HUET (1745-1811) "Jeunes femmes discutant devant l'embarcadère sur fond de paysage" and "Conversation galante sur les hauteurs face au château", two important oils on canvas Size 289 x 234 cm Restoration and lining Provenance: Dorotheum Alte Meister sale, Vienna, 21 April 2010, nos. 76 and 77 (pages 166-167 of the catalogue), presented at this sale by the specialist Dr. Alexander Strasoldo, who compared them to paintings by the artist sold by Christie's New York on 26 October 2001, catalogue no. 324. He also likened their composition to the spirit of the decorations made in collaboration with Boucher for the engraver Dumarteau's Salon (Musée Carnavalet) and the compositions painted with his uncle Christophe Huet at the Château de Chantilly (Grande Singerie).
