The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York holds a bronze version of our statuette, traditionally mistakenly attributed to James Pradier. It adds, however, that this statuette could also be by a gifted, younger artist under Pradier's strong influence. Another suggested attribution is to Jean-Jacques Feuchère, but we feel that it is Jules Desbois who should be credited with the creation of this model.
