Watch-holder
Made of native wood, monoxyle decorated with a long snake that structures the composition. The watch-holder is perched at the top of an "M" formed by the body of the reptile. The ensemble is completed by a lucanus, a scorpion and a view of an oriental city, finished with an opening box, complete with its original lid.

- Sculpture attributed to Pierre-Joseph Landry (born in 1770 in St Servan-sur-Mer - died in 1843 in Iberville). Originally from Ille et Vilaine, P-J Landry emigrated with his parents to North America in 1785, becoming a captain in the Louisiana army and a sugar cane planter.
