Attributed to the Master of San Miniato (active in Florence between 1460 and 1480) Madonna and Child with Saint John the Baptist Poplar panel, one board (Worn) No frame Virgin and Child with Saint John the Baptist, oil on poplar panel, attr. to the Master of San Miniato 23.22 x 17.12 in. 59 x 43.5 cm Provenance: Probably the collection of Marquis Alfonso Tacoli Canacci (died 1801); Anonymous sale; Lyon, Hôtel d'Ainay, Conan Belleville, 11 December 2024, no. 195 (as early 16th century Florentine school); Acquired at this sale by the current owner; Private collection, Slovakia In 1913, Bernard Berenson established this painter's corpus on the basis of two altarpieces that he identified in San Miniato in Tuscany.
