Attributed to Alexander Nasmyth (Edinburgh, 1758 – 1840) “Landscape of Glencoe, Highlands, Scotland” Oil on canvas. 92 x 72 cm. Alexander Nasmyth was a Scottish landscape painter who initially devoted himself to portraiture, dedicating himself exclusively to landscape painting from 1792 onward. The Glencoe valley, which Nasmyth painted on numerous occasions, is one of the most famous in Scotland for the natural beauty of its scenery.
