Attributed to Frans Snyders' workshop (Antwerp 1579 - 1657) Hunting Scene Oil on canvas. Relined. 203 x 216 cm. In the past, as the family informs us, the canvas was unfortunately cut to size on the right side in order to fit it in a new location. It is possible that the author's signature was in the lower right-hand corner, but it was lost when the canvas was cut to size. Antwerp, 1579 - Antwerp, 1657 In 1593 he entered the workshop of Pieter Brueghel the Younger and was also apprenticed to Hendrick van Balen. In 1602 he entered the Guild of Saint Luke as a master and shortly afterwards travelled to Rome and Milan, where he worked for Cardinal Frederick Borromeo on the recommendation of Jan Brueghel the Younger. On his return to Antwerp in 1610 he married Marguerite de Vos, sister of the painter Cornelis
