Our hypothesis is that the painting we present is a copy of the "Crucifixion," dated 1646, painted by Stella's master, the painter Nicolas Poussin, which is preserved at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut, United States, and which is in a state of severe deterioration.
