Auguste-François RAVIER (1814-1895) Landscape with bridge Graphite and wash, signed lower right H. 38.5 cm - W. 53.5 cm CBT Ravier left a series of large drawings on bluish paper of the Roman countryside that can be dated to the years 1840-1845. Far from the emblematic monuments of the Eternal City, the young painter was more interested in the breadth of the countryside steeped in history than in the picturesque landscape so popular with artists visiting Rome.
